Kaleidoscope: The Windy City

Kaleidoscope

The Windy City

I looked round the corner of Howe Street
but the north wind howled in my face
so I retreated to North Castle Street
and looked round that corner
but a gale skinned me alive.
I staggered past the Spanish Consulate holding onto the railings
and just made it to George Street
but on the corner a sudden squall kicked stoor in my eyes
so I hopped on a bus to escape the blast
but it was going the wrong way.
At York Place I transferred to a tram which conveyed me safely home
to Saughton where it was dead calm for it was in the eye of the storm.
