The totem pole was installed next to the Union Canal in December 2012 and unveiled by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, the Right Honourable Donald Wilson.
It provides a “Ladder to the Cloud” – a physical symbol that there is now all this information about Wester Hailes in the “cloud” online. The pole includes 5 quick-response (QR) codes for passers-by to scan with their smart phones and access some of the fantastic projects in the area.
