The Big Walk: Poetry In Motion took place today as part of the Wester Hailes Community Connections Festival. The walk led by local social historian Eoghan Howard followed a circular route around the Wester Hailes town centre with poetry provided by famed Wester Hailes poet Colin Bartie.
The route took them from the Healthy Living Centre along to the Green Way, over the bridge to the canal then back towards the Plaza and finally finishing back at the Healthy Living Centre, with special stopping points at the Green Way, the Huts, the Totem Pole, the Plaza and even the Westsider for some of Colin’s poems about Wester Hailes.
The walk was filmed by Colin’s son Liam and will be shown at a future date.
