Broomhouse centre looking for trainees

The Broomhouse Centre is currently looking for 10 new trainees for the Café Training Project ideally between 16-24 year olds.

The project will run for one year and each trainee will need to commit to attending one day per week.  Each trainee will be given the opportunity  to enrol in a Borders College accredited training programme and to do REHIS Food Hygiene Training and a Cookery Skills Course.

The Broomhouse Centre is committed  to personal development and provides education and training in a hospitality environment.

The Café Training Project work with young people with learning difficulties, young offenders, people with mental health issues and provide work and school placements. The project has recently received a grant of £262,000 from the Big Lottery. They plan over the next three years to provide 90 adults with training opportunities that will develop their social skills, confidence and team working before taking part in work experience catering placements.
