Nettle String workshop from Willow Gardening Group

Calders Community Garden Willow Garden Group

The Willow Gardening Group will be holding a nettle string workshop at the Calders Community Garden next Tuesday, 29 September 2015, 1.00pm – 4.00pm.

Advice from Wester Hailes Edible Estates:

This is a great opportunity to come and learn how to make string from nettles! it’s a great way to make use of those nettles and the string that you make is biodegradable so really environmentally friendly way of tying up your peas/ courgettes.

The Willow Gardening group, which is linked to the Health Agency, officially meets every Tuesday at the Healthy Living Centre at 12.45pm.  However, they usually turn up early for some lunch at the Garden Kitchen Cafe first. They then walk along the canal to the Calders Community Garden. The sessions are open to everyone and they encourage people to join them at the garden, they usually arrive at 1.15pm.
