Our recent report of the October meeting of the Wester Hailes Community Council outlined some difficulties in a possible extension to the Wester Hailes Baptist Church and Dove Centre. Local councillor Ricky Henderson has contacted us to give us an update on the problem:
Your recent report on the October Wester Hailes Community Council meeting explained that the issue of the Wester Hailes Baptist Church’s proposal to purchase land from the Council was discussed and that this transaction was in connection with the Church’s plans to expand their premises and continue to provide accommodation for the Dove Centre.
I’d like to reassure Sentinel readers and the Community Council that I have been taking an interest in this issue for some time and will be holding a meeting soon with the interested parties with the intention of seeking an agreement on the way forward.
I’ll provide an update to the next Community Council meeting on Wednesday 4th November.
