Two weeks left to Grant a Grand

South West Neighbourhood Office Grant a Grand

You still have time to make an application. What could young people in your area do with £1000?

This year the South West Neighbourhood Partnership is focusing on funding one off payments of £1000 to the ten most popular projects for young people.

Grant A Grand is a form of community based participatory budgeting aimed at young people aged 10 to 19 in South West Edinburgh, and is still open for applications.

The goal is to have a selection of applications based on ideas from local young people by the end of November, these will then be voted on by young people early next year and the ten most popular will get £1000.

The South West Neighbourhood Partnership is encouraging as many youth groups and charities as possible to talk to young people and ask them how they’d spend £1000. It could be sports equipment or skills training, recreational or educational – If it benefits local young people then it probably qualifies.

Application forms and more information can be downloaded from the Grant a Grand page on the Neighbourhood Partnership website. For more information or if you have any questions please contact:

Michael Edwards – 0131 527 3884 or Scott Neil – 0131 527 3816

If you know any groups who may be interested or you want to ensure specific groups are included, just let us know. Otherwise, get thinking and get applying.
