US Ambassador visits WHEC

Matthew Barzun, the US Ambassador to the UK paid a visit to WHEC on Friday to find out what young people think of the United States.

Mr Barzun held a workshop with some of the senior pupils of WHEC asking their views on America, finding out what frustrated and impressed them. Topics included gun control, police violence, racism and inequality.

Mr Barzun, who is based in London, has been the US ambassador to the UK for two years and in that time has visited over 100 schools around the country meeting over 10,000 pupils. The ambassador decided to visit WHEC after Stuart Sinclair, head of modern studies, sent a tweet inviting him along.
