CELEBRATE TOGETHER

On Saturday night, 30 January 2016, I attended this yearly event held this time at the Corn Exchange in Chesser.  The event was organised by SCOREscotland, Prospect Community Housing and the Wester Hailes Health Agency.  It was also supported by the South West Neighbourhood Partnership, Pentlands Neighbourhood Partnership, local councillors, local police, Wester Hailes Community Council, Sighthill Broomhouse & Parkhead Community Council and many other groups.

This well attended get together brought 250 local people together to celebrate in a night of fun.  The event had information stalls from the Police, South West Neighbourhood Office, Prospect Housing, the Crown Office & Prosecutor Fiscal Service and SCOREscotland. It had everything from storytelling and music workshops for the children to African Drumming, Indian dancing, a Ceilidh followed by great food and a disco, a raffle and dancing into the wee small hours.

From the many Photographs I took through the night it certainly looked like everyone was having a brilliant time. I had planned to try interview some people but they were all too busy having a great time, I didn’t want to interrupt them perhaps another day. Many thanks for the Invite to this great event.
