‘SMARTCRAFT’ Poem
I feel cold in the belly of the Whale
now transformed into a bright Art Room
offering hospitality to artistic casualties, even a Jonah like me.
Cold it is, damp too
hail-scur lashes the windows long after Yule
chairs scrape across the floor on crab’s claws but soon I will settle
familiar faces are bright birthday candles upon this Baked Alaska
and I feel warmed by well-kent hearts
that are near to me.
