Lothian Buses has released an update detailing some of changes affecting the number 18 bus service from yesterday Monday, 1 August 2016.
Following a recent review of ‘Supported Bus Services’, the City of Edinburgh Council has awarded Lothian Buses the contract for service 18 weekday (inter-peak) and all Saturday and Sunday journeys. From Sunday 14 August we will implement a revised service 18 timetable.
First Bus services will finish on Sunday 31 July. For two weeks from Monday 1 August until Saturday 13 August the current service 18 timetable will continue, however Lothian Buses will operate journeys previously run by First Bus. This is to cover a gap between the previous contract expiring and the new contract commencing and will ensure that all passengers continue to be accomodated. All Lothian Buses fares and tickets will be valid on service 18 from Monday 1 August.
We would like to apologise to passengers for this short notice change which follows only a very recent decision by City of Edinburgh Council to award Lothian Buses the contract.
