Prospect launches consultation on rent increase

Prospect Community Housing has begun a consultation with its tenants regarding a proposal to increase rent by 1.6%  from April 2017, to continue their policy of having inflation only rent increases.

Every year we ask our tenants for their views on our rent and service charges. We are now carrying out a consultation on our proposal to increase rent by 1.6% from April 2017. One of our objectives is to have inflation only rent increases and we have achieved this for the last two years. We use the Retail Price Index to give us the inflation figure.

This year the Retail Price Index is 1.8%. We think it’s important to keep rents as affordable as possible so this year we are proposing a lower than inflation increase of 1.6%. With this increase we will still be able to invest in our properties and provide value for money services.

All tenants who take part in this survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 of Love To Shop vouchers.

You can find more information in the Rent and Services Charge Consultation 2017.

If you are a Prospect tenant, you can complete the survey online and be entered into the prize draw here.
