WHEC pupils finalists in recycled fashion design competition

Wester Hailes Education Centre would like to ask local people to vote for two of their students who have been selected as finalists for a recycled fashion competition by  Junk Kouture.

Junk Kouture is a national contest which encourages young designers in second level education to create striking couture designs and impressive works of wearable art from everyday junk that would normally find its way into the bin.

Over 350 entries were submitted to Junk Kouture Scotland this year and the design by pupils Dylan Elliot and Klaudia Mejza in S4 has been chosen by the judges as one of only 80 designs to make it through to the Grand Final.

The pupils will be heading along to the Grand Final in the SECC Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow on February 9 2017.

As part of choosing the winner the competition holds a public vote. This vote is worth 10% of your overall score. This vote will take place from 9.00am on Monday 30 January until midnight on Friday 3 February 2017.  Voting will take place on the Junk Kouture Facebook page. Everyone can vote for your design once per day for 5 days.
