Clovenstone Kids garden fun with Edible Estates

Wester Hailes Edible Estates has released an update on their ongoing work with with Clovenstone Primary School including the kids helping paint a new sign.

Some good work today by children from Clovenstone primary. One child helped paint a new sign for our garden and another made some berry bird balls for the school garden. Great work!

Primary 5 worked hard today. We learnt about why bugs are good for our garden and how we can encourage them. We spent the afternoon cutting wood from fallen branches, pine cones, fallen leaves, recycled tins and garden string. We worked hard as a team to build a beautiful bug house and are eagerly awaiting our first ‘bug’ tenants. As you will see from our pictures, Primary 5 built a fabulous habitat. Well done Primary 5.

Edible Estates also runs weekly woodland play sessions on Fridays 2.00pm – 4.00pm at ‘the woods’ at Westburn and Saturdays 1.30pm – 4.00pm at Curriemuirend Woodland. It is a great opportunity for local children in Wester Hailes to get to know their local woodlands and learn about nature, bio-diversity and have some fun.

You can keep up to date with all the work Edible Estates is doing including the great work done by the Clovenstone Kids on their Facebook here.
