Council announce changes to garden waste collection

Edinburgh Council has announced that garden waste collections are changing.

From March, they will be collected once every three weeks all year round instead of two weeks in the summer and four weeks in the winter.

The garden waste service is not a statutory service, and is not provided by all Councils. It is one we provide because it is valued by residents. In response to the funding challenges faced by all Councils, some have ceased the service, while others have introduced a charge for the service.

The 3 weekly model allows us to maintain the service and means we can do so without additional charges to householders who use the service.

More information about your garden waste collections including the date your service will change is available on your bin collection calendar.
