An update from the Wee Soup Garden

Wester Hailes Edible Estates have released a small update from their Wee Soup Garden, located in Hailesland next to Michael’s shop, and the services it provides.

The Murrayburn and Hailesland Gardeners have been very busy over the past few weeks sowing peas, beans and cosmos flowers at The Health Agency in propagation trays, that will then be transferred to raised beds when they are ready. Two weeks ago Nicole, our gardener from Clovie joined us on site at The Wee Soup Garden where we planted some potatoes with the help of some very hard working residents! And last week we took a walk up to Clovie where we collected some seeds and enjoyed our soup in the spring sunshine.

As part of this project Edible Estates delivers homemade soup to residents in Murrayburn and Hailesland. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this initiative then please contact Stacey on 0131 453 9400 or stacey@whee.org.uk.

The soup is made using packs purchased from The Community Food Shop that is managed by Edinburgh Community Food in The Wester Hailes Library. This runs every Thursday between 11.30am and 2pm.
