Community Garden Recipes: Lemon and Mint Iced Tea

There are many community gardens in Wester Hailes which grow food including fruit, vegetables and herbs.  Most of the gardens are open to the public where anyone can come and harvest food for free.  You can also join your local community garden to learn how to grow food and other new skills, meet new people and get outdoors.

Following on from last week’s community gardens recipe for Strawberry and Kale Smoothie.  This week we have a cool and refreshing Lemon and Mint Iced Tea with fresh mint harvested from the Whale Community Garden.

Lemon and Mint Iced Tea

-Make a cuppa of herbal tea of your choice (we used a mint herbal teabag)
-Let it infuse and cool
-Remove tea bag and pour tea in glass/jug/pitcher of your choice
-Add a handful of washed mint leaves, some lemon and lime slices
-Add in ice cubes and allow to chill in the fridge for a few hours
-If you wish you can add a sweetner/syrup of your choice but we like it like this

Enjoy your cool and refreshing Iced Tea drink!
