There are many community gardens in Wester Hailes which grow food including fruit, vegetables and herbs. Most of the gardens are open to the public where anyone can come and harvest food for free. You can also join your local community garden to learn how to grow food and other new skills, meet new people and get outdoors. Below are the community gardens in Wester Hailes:
- Whale Arts Community Garden (at The back of Whale Arts Centre)
- The Willow Garden (beside the Canal near Bridge 8)
- Calders Green Shoots Garden (beside Sighthill Primary School)
- The Wee Soup Garden (along the Greenway behind Michael’s shop)
- Clovenstone Community Garden (beside Clovenstone Community Centre

STRAWBERRY & KALE SMOOTHIE
1 cup of Kale
1 cup of Strawberries
1 cup of any type of Yoghurt
1 cup of ice
Combine ingredients in blender and blend!
