Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network’s famous mascot, Doogie Goodstuff paid a visit to Dads Rock Academy as they get ready for the biggest social enterprise event of the year.

Dads Rock Academy practice for their performance at Social in the Gardens, the free social enterprise festival taking place on 2nd and 3rd August at the iconic Ross Bandstand, Edinburgh.

Social in the Gardens is a popular two day gathering that attracts more than 7,000 people each day. Social enterprises from across the city and the Lothians come together to celebrate and showcase their work, selling quality goods and services to the public. As well as the wide range of social enterprise products on offer, there’ll be food, music, and other performances – with some very special guests.

The Dads Rock Academy is Edinburgh’s only social enterprise offering low cost music lessons for children aged 7-16 and their mums/dads/grandparents.

Doogie was on hand to help the Dads Rock band at The Music Box (at Edinburgh College’s Sighthill campus) trying his hand at a drum solo and also get a guitar lesson from one of the younger players.

David Marshall, Director and Co-Founder of Dads Rock Academy said:

The families that make up the Dads Rock Academy are really excited about playing live. We are pleased that Doogie, our resident scene stealer dropped by to give them some tips ahead of their performance at Social in the Gardens. I’m really proud to be part of the event, supporting enterprises across Edinburgh and the Lothians.
