Local Group creates new planter for Westburn

WHALE Arts’ Westburn CAN has been out and about in Westburn today, building a new planter for the local community to use.

The group working with local volunteers, Prospect Community Housing, New Caledonian Woodland and Build to Grow is creating a large planter in the grassy area in the middle of Morvenside.

Local children have been out helping with the construction (and giving each other a lot of wheelbarrow rides!) and it is hoped that the new planter soon be teeming with edible crops, allowing everyone to have Brussels sprouts and potatoes with their Christmas Dinner.

If you would like to become involved with Westburn CAN you can join them during one of their free weekly sessions at the WHALE Arts Centre every Monday and Friday, 10:30am – 2:30pm.
