Soup and Books at the Wee Soup Garden

Local MP Joanna Cherry paid a visit to the Wee Soup Garden in Hailesland to take part in the weekly workshop, admire the new Little Free Library, enjoy some delicious soup and congratulate the group on the work they are doing.

The group were proud to show off the new Little Free Library, shaped like Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Can, located in the Garden which contains a selection of great books for local children, Ms Cherry even dropped off a couple to add to the collection. They then enjoyed some delicious Tomato and Basil soup before taking a wander round to inspect the new Murrayburn and Hailesland Community Notice Board created by Murrayburn and Hailesland Community Park Association with funding from the Wester Hailes Community Trust.

The Wee Soup Garden located between Michael’s Shop and the With Kids building is run in partnership with local residents, Edible Estates and With Kids. They hold weekly gardening workshops every Friday 2.00pm – 4.00pm offering free homemade hot soup to everyone who comes along.
