Have your say and shape WHEC’s core values

Wester Hailes Education Centre is currently carrying out a consultation on all its stakeholders asking them to have their say and shape the future of the school.

The consultation which has been looking at defining and then shaping four core values for the school has just entered its third stage.

Headteacher David Young:

I’m very keen to explore what Wester Hailes Education Centre means to us by displaying a series of value statements that we all believe in and is reflected in our behaviours, across the Centre.

The school has now agreed upon four core values – Aspirational, Community, Learning and Respect. Mr Young is asking local people to  agree upon three phrases which they best feel sums up the meaning of the value. The example given is that for Respect it might be; Respect for self, Respect for others and Respect for learning.

Once agreed, the Value statements will be displayed across our Centre, together and separately, to inform all stakeholders of the type of Centre we want at WHEC.

The online survey is open until Thursday 21st September and can be completed here.
