The City of Edinburgh Council has announced that they are currently looking to fill a Primary Teacher Vacancy at Canal View Primary School.
Salary: £22,416 – £35,763
Hours: 35 per week
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
Canal View Primary School serves the community of Wester Hailes. The school has a broad social mix and the catchment contains areas of multiple deprivation, has a Free School Meal percentage of 52%, receives ‘Positive Action’ funding and is one of the eight Scottish Attainment Challenge Schools in Edinburgh. Canal View Primary School is organised into fifteen classes from P1-7 and has Nursery offering 56 full-time places.
The school is led by a management team of a Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, Home Link Teacher, Principal Teacher and a Business Manager. There are eighteen class teachers and two full time and one part time Support for Learning Teachers ably supported by a School Administrator, an Early Years Officer, a team of Early Years Practitioners and Pupil Support Assistants, a School Support Assistant and a Service Support Officer.
The post for the remainder of the school session will be Primary 3.
This post is and considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
