Christmas update from Broomhouse Food Bank

The Broomhouse Community One Stop Shop, home of the Broomhouse Food Bank, has released a quick update promoting some of the things they’ve been doing in preparation for Christmas.

The update from their Facebook reads:

We’ve had a busy few months, with the launch of our outreach projects at the Calder’s Community Flat and Saughton House. We had a fantastic time at our holiday support week with Murrayburn, and we would like to thank Big Hearts and Jambos Kickback for hosting a food drive for us. This went better than we could’ve imagined and they have raised over £1600 for the food bank. Check out our newsletter to see what else we have been up to!

We know that Christmas can be a tough time, if anyone needs to access our services we are open from 9:00 to 15:00 Monday to Thursday and from 9:00 to 12:00 on Fridays. We will close on Saturday 23rd of December and will reopen on Wednesday 3rd January.

If you would like to support the Food Bank donations can be made at Sainsbury’s Longstone, Sainsbury’s Murrayfield, Morrison’s The Gyle, Calder Road Scotmid and the Community One Stop Shop in Broomhouse Market.
