Prospect launch consultation on Rent increase proposal

Prospect Community Housing are asking their tenants for their views on a proposal to increase rent and service charges.

Our proposal is to increase rent by 2.4% from April 2018. One of our objectives is to have inflation only rent increases to keep rents affordable and we use the Retail Price Index to give us the inflation figure. This year the Retail Price Index is 3.9%.

We have looked closely at all our expenditure planned for next year and believe that a 2.4% rent increase will be sufficient to allow us to continue to invest in our properties and provide value for money services.

We want to make sure as many tenants as possible have a chance to share their views with us during this consultation.

There are several different ways available to share your views on the proposal.

  • You can complete an online survey here
  • You can complete and return the freepost postcard they have sent out to all tenants
  • Let them know your mobile number and they will text you a survey link
  • Head along and share your views at the Tenants Forum on Wednesday 13 December at Prospect’s office, 5.00pm-7.00pm, or they will be at Clovenstone Community Centre on Monday 18 December 2017, from 10.00am – 12.00pm.

All tenants who take part in the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win £100 of Love To Shop vouchers.
