The Playground Project new Friday afternoon play sessions

With Kids and WHALE Arts are happy to announce “The Playground Project” a new Friday afternoon club running creative play sessions for children from Canal View Primary School, in which they set out their vision and design for a new community park in Hailesland and Murrayburn.

The free club will run on Friday afternoons, 12.30pm – 2.30pm starting on Friday 26 January until 23 March 2018.

These child-led creative and play-based sessions will be delivered by Emile Van Loo from With Kids and Helena Barrett from WHALE Arts, and will involve, Games, Outdoors fun, Art, Building, Play and Trips, with lunch included.

The Playground project is for kids from Hailesland and Murrayburn (although open to all at the school) and will meet every Friday at Canal View Primary after school starting in January 2018 until the Easter holidays. The aim of the project is to run creative play sessions for the children, in which they set out their vision and design for a community park.

This project is the legacy of With Kids long term relationship with the Hailesland and Murrayburn community and membership of the Hailesland and Murrayburn Community Park Association, in particular it follows on from natural play workshops run by Emile Van Loo from August to November 2017. Working with WHALE Arts new Creative Placemaker the new collaboration will continue the process of seeking the children’s input over the space hopefully leading on to wider, more large scale work in the area.
