Bridge Cafe seek Volunteer Coordinator/Cafe manager

Holy Trinity Church is looking for a Volunteers Co-ordinator/Cafe Manager for the Bridge Community Cafe in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh.

The post is part time at 21 Hours a week with a salary of £12,000.

The Bridge Community Cafe is a vital part of Holy Trinity Church’s community supporting work, providing healthy and low cost meals, offering advice and signposting help available from several community supporting projects.

The work of the Cafe is carried out by volunteer team leaders and volunteers who cook and serve customers. You will be working alongside the volunteers’ team, providing supervision and “hands on” support on the three days (Wed – Fri) that the Cafe is open for business.  At Jan 2018, there are approx. 20 volunteers and we anticipate the need to double this by the end of 2018, to extend our opening days to include the Easter, Summer and October school holiday periods.

The Cafe has been running for over 10 years, but its number of customers in recent years has been low. We are seeking someone who will be responsible for increasing local awareness of the Bridge Cafe, devising and publicising a programme of Cafe events over the year to attract specific groups of customers to the Cafe.

You will be responsible for devising a menu that is nutritious and appealing to our customers and which meets the standards of the Healthy Living Award Plus. In addition, you will keep records that are needed for Environmental Health purposes and information about volunteer training.

The Closing Date for Applications is 2 March 2018 with interviews taking place between 12 – 16 March.

You can apply for the role and find more detailed information on the Holy Trinity Church website here.
