Edible Estates are currently seeking to hire a sessional School Farm Gardener to work with the group and Canal View Primary School to establish a School Farm project.
The post is 10 per week with a fixed term self-employed contract from 11 April 2018 to 30 June 2018, with a salary of £18 per hour.
The School Farm Gardener would work with teachers and pupils to establish and manage the School Farm. He/she would provide eight hours of gardening sessions/week at the school for the eleven weeks of the Summer Term. An additional two hours/week would be set aside to liaise with Edible Estates and Canal View staff to manage the school farm and incorporate the gardening sessions into the curriculum of the school.
The majority of gardening sessions would be with P6 and P7 pupils. Each session would work with approximately thirty children. Sessions would be supported by a Teacher or PSA.
