Getting creative at Wester Hailes library

Wester Hailes library was full of creativity today when we paid a visit to a poetry and creative writing workshop run by the Scottish Poetry Library and WHALE Arts.

This week, the group’s participants led by Hannah Lavery were looking at the idea of home. They began by sharing the thoughts, ideas and feelings that are conjured up when thinking of home, reading the poem Today I dreamed all day… by Rauf Parfi for inspiration, before going on to write their own poems.

The free workshop is part of the Scottish Poetry Library’s year long residency project in Wester Hailes. The residency plans to include taster sessions with local community groups and partners and monthly poetry groups at WHALE Arts.

The project is currently in the third week of its four week run with the final workshop taking place next Wednesday 21 March 2019, 11.30am – 1.00pm.

For more information about the group contact Helena at WHALE Arts on 0131 458 3267 or helena@Whalearts.co.uk.
