The Wester Hailes Community Trust has presented an award of £1930 to With Kids and the Calders Childrens Zone Steering group to support the group and allow the steering group to grow and continue to expand the new community hub at Sighthill Primary.
The award was presented at the groups first birthday party yesterday, 7 June 2018 at Sighthill Primary, which saw local families head along for a great party full of activities for chidren, food and cake! The award will be used to expand the Community hub with a Freezer, food storage and administration equipment, a new community noticeboard.
The Calders Children’s Zone is a community led project based within the Calders estate. The project has developed a community hub space at Sighthill Primary School for families and local residents. The leadership and direction are community led and encourage a pro-active self-help approach for families. They have a steering group of fourteen residents who are supporting the projects development practically and strategically.
