Police Scotland June Report

Police Scotland Community Policing Team gave a short report to members of the Wester Hailes Community Council yesterday detailing some of the crime that took place around Wester Hailes in June.

  • 5 Housebreakings – 1 solved
  • 23 assaults – including two  incidents of note; a stabbing on Thursday 7 June 2018, as well as a sexual assault at the Plaza on Tuesday 17 June.
  • 14 thefts
  • 3 incidents of Hate crime – 2 solved

PC Jamie Bailey added that Police had stopped two drivers driving without insurance, one on Wester Hailes road and the other in Westburn.

There was then an update on Operation Aftermath which is targeting drug use in Wester Hailes. A number of arrests have been made at Westside Plaza with one leading to the seizure of heroin from an address in Murrayburn.
