Vintage Vibes Community Adventurer Vacancy

The Broomhouse Centre is looking to recruit a Community Adventurer to work with their Vintage Vibes project.

The post is fixed term, for two years, working 21.6 hours per week over three days with a salary of £13, 370.

Edinburgh is the loneliest city in the UK for older people. Vintage Vibes is an award winning fresh approach to tackling isolation, putting together over 60s (called our VIPs) and volunteers and matching them based on shared interests to create long-lasting friendships. Our motto is ‘Good Company Never Gets Old’ and we’re a partnership project between two charities in Edinburgh, LifeCare Edinburgh Limited and The Broomhouse Centre and Enterprises (The Partners).

This role, based at the Broomhouse Centre, involves 14hrs p/w working alongside a fantastic, but small, team of 2 Service Co-ordinators, a Development Manager and wonderful volunteers to deliver a quality, personalised and responsive beneficiary‐led service to older people in Edinburgh so that VIPs from low income areas are re-engaged with their local communities.

You will explore community based opportunities (from community cafes to local allotments) alongside supporting and supervising the VIPs and volunteers in the delivery of the project. In addition, the role includes 7 hours p/w administrative support for volunteer and VIP processing, communication support and other ad hoc duties.

You can apply for the post by sending a CV and cover letter to hello@vintagevibes.org.uk by 6pm Wednesday August 8th 2018.
