Film Projection Trail at Westside Plaza

Join WHALE Arts for the climax of the Changing Perspectives: Wester Hailes Film And Moving Image Festival, a outdoor projection trail at Westside Plaza, tomorrow Saturday 20 October 2018, 6.00pm – 10.00pm.

Local spaces will appear live never before, as they illuminate the Wester Hailes Library, Odeon Cinema and Underpasses with short film and moving images.

On the building surface of the Wester Hailes library you will see footage from the WHALE VHS Archive; whilst a new animation inspired by the Sentinel newspaper, created by artists Morwenna Kearsley and Bernie Reid, will be projected on to the Odeon cinema. Lastly explore the local underpasses for light installations and a musical and text installation of community song ‘Let’s Meet at the Underpass’ at the railway underpass near the Healthy Living Centre.

While visiting the trail people are invited to pop into WHALE Arts to find out more about the event from the WHALE Community Cinema as well as warm themselves with some Autumnal treats from Tasting Change. Also at WHALE see an experimental film piece showcasing the highlights of WHALE and Tasting Change by film maker Ollie Benton and join them for a family friendly disco.
