Housing Regulator Wants Social Housing Tenants In Edinburgh To Join Its National Panel

National Panel to give tenants in Edinburgh a chance to have their say.

Independent body the Scottish Housing Regulator is looking for new members for it’s National Panel of Tenants and Service Users.

The Panel gives households across Scotland the chance to have their say about social landlords’ services. This includes more than 37,000 tenants and service users in Edinburgh.

It is open to anyone who uses the services of councils and housing associations, co-operatives or other social landlords.

Iain Muirhead, Director of Business and Digital Support, said:

The Panel is a great opportunity for tenants and service users to tell us what they think about the services they receive and what matters most to them.

It has been a great success since we launched it in 2013. We’ve had incredibly useful feedback on issues like service priorities, rent affordability, homelessness and home safety. We want to build on this and so we’ve launched a recruitment drive for new members.

We want to hear views from as many people as possible. So, I would encourage anyone who uses the services of social landlords to think about signing up.

We use the Panel’s feedback to help make sure we’re focusing on the most important things. As a Panel member we will send you occasional surveys asking for your views, and we may ask you to give us feedback in other ways too.

The Panel has already attracted over 400 members including tenants, people who have used local authority homelessness services, home owners who use social landlord factors and people who live on social rented Gypsy/Traveller sites.

Anyone interested in joining the Panel should contact Engage Scotland (who manage the Panel on the Regulator’s behalf) on 0800 433 7212 or email natpan@engagescotland.co.uk
