Hailes Quarry Park Litter Pick

There will be a litter pick at Hailes Quarry Park on Saturday 30 March 2019, 10.00am – 12.00pm, meeting at the play park off Dumbryden Road.

Litter kills wildlife. Animals and birds can get trapped and suffocate inside plastic bags. They die from infected cuts caused by thrown-away drinks cans and glass bottles. Some birds confuse plastic – bits of crisp packet, and wrappers – for food, and feed it to their young. This makes them starve. The RSPCA gets 5000 calls a year about animals harmed or killed by human litter.

The litter pick will be a fun way to make our area safer for wildlife, and nicer for all of us.

The rangers will be supplying litter-pickers and gloves.  Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear suitable clothing.
