Police Scotland Appeal for Vehicle sightings following Housebreaking Attempt

Police Scotland are appealing for information after a JCB digger was rammed into the front of a newsagents in the Chesser area of Edinburgh.

The incident happened on Gorgie Road just before 4am, Thursday 31st January. It is being treated as a housebreaking attempt and officers are carrying out inquiries at the scene.

Inspector Scott Richardson of Wester Hailes Police Station said:

The JCB digger was stolen from the Keepmoat building site on Calder Road, and was seen in the area in convoy with a black Mercedes 4×4 and a white Ford flatbed truck. I’m keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any of these vehicles and may be able to assist the investigation.
