A group of young people from WHALE Arts and Dance Ihayami Inspire Indian Dance project will be among a series of performances commissioned specifically for the Festival Theatre’s 25 birthday celebrations ’25 Live’.

The festivities will take place on Saturday 1 June 2019, 7.00pm at the Festival Theatre. 25 Live will be a variety show of the very best of the theatre’s creative people, projects and partnerships and hosted by Jamie MacDougall (BBC Radio Scotland) and Saskia Ashdown (BBC 3).

Dance Ihayami and WHALE Arts celebrate 50 years of Wester Hailes with a new dance piece. Scottish Opera brings Spinning Songs, an inter-generational song-writing project.

Capital Theatres presents a piece created from the Festival Theatre archive and a snapshot of our ground breaking dementia friendly work. Pilrig Park School joins Harmeny in working with our engagement artists to create two new unmissable pieces, and we will be celebrating recent collaborations, such as our short film with LGBT Youth Scotland and An Audience With… Janice Parker Projects.

Come and wish us a happy birthday, we can’t wait to share this with you!

Ticket prices start from £10, with a discount code available for WHALE Arts participants. Contact WHALE on 0131 458 3267 or info@whalearts.co.uk for more information about the code.

This performance will have a quiet space and breakout spaces with a live feed throughout the show. For any access questions please contact Capital Theatres.
