Demolition has started on Murrayburn Gate, the vacant social work building, located adjacent to Westside Plaza and the site of the old Health Centre.
The building has been standing vacant since the opening of the new Healthy Living Centre on 20 August 2013. Several local groups have looked into using the building over the years but it has proved to be too expensive ad in too much disrepair. This has lead to some concerns being raised that the building is a fire hazard as well as a source for vermin.
Please note that their will be no access to the footbridge located next to the building connecting the Greenway to Westside Plaza until the demolition is complete, scheduled for Friday 12 July 2019.
