There will be a memorial service for long time community activist and Wester Hailes resident Betty Glasgow, next Thursday 17 October 2019, 1.30pm at the Corn Exchange.
Betty, 87, passed away suddenly while on holiday in Spain on June 20, 2019.
Betty was involved in a large number of community projects over the years including serving as Vice Chair of Wester Hailes Representative Council and as a board Member of the Wester Hailes Land & Property Trust. She was heavily involved in improving housing in the area and was awarded an MBE for years of service to her neighbourhood.
