Clovenstone Community Centre has released “Made in Wester Hailes” a short film that follows seven local people who tell their stories living in Wester Hailes and what inspired them.
The film, with voice-over from local pupils, follows Sas Martinez as he interviews seven inspirational local people, asks them about their life, growing up in Wester Hailes and what inspired them along the way.
The people interviewed are:
- Stephen Rafferty
- John Rennie
- Tommy Smith O.B.E
- Shirley Macintosh
- Ian Murray MP
- Donna Findley
- Stephen Simmons
The film premiered at Clovenstone Community Centre on Tuesday 27 October 2019, to an audience of local people, stars of the film and local politicians and staff. It is currently planned to be shown at Wester Hailes Education Centre where it is hoped it will inspire pupils in their own lives.
Made in Wester Hailes was funded by the Wester Hailes Community Trust, written and directed by George Williamson, with stories and production by Sas Martinez.
