Start the New Year Running with Harmeny Athletic Club

With a brand new Parkrun started just on our doorstep at Oriam and a new decade fast approaching, what better time to turn your thoughts to dusting off your trainers and setting a new health goal for 2020. Harmeny Athletic Club have just the answer, a brand new Jogscotland course starting on Sunday 5th January at 9:30am from Bavelaw car park, Balerno.

The course follows a similar plan as the NHS Couch 2 5km and is aimed at beginners or people returning to exercise after a period off. It will start with a very gentle walk jog and will progress to more jog, less walk. The benefit of signing up to Harmeny AC’s course, is that with numerous jogscotland leaders they have the capacity to support people of varying abilities without anyone feeling like they are being left behind. Not only that but their unique mentoring scheme will ensure you have all the advice and support you need between Sunday runs, plus loads of encouragement and friendly faces along the way.

Their aim, to help and support people to jog a 5km by the end of the course and promote a healthier, more active life within the community. And after all the expense of Christmas, what could be better than it being absolutely free to attend each week.

For more information or to register contact Kim Kenny on jogscothac@gmail.com and make this one a New Years resolution to last.
