The different communities of Wester Hailes were celebrating in January when SCOREscotland in partnership with Prospect, The Health Agency and With Kids held a Community Celebration at the Corn Exchange.
The event was a great success with over 300 local residents coming together to celebrate Burns Night and the diverse range of cultures in Wester Hailes. There was a piper playing alongside drummers, a story teller, ceilidh dancing, a disco, and a fantastic range of food.
As well as enjoying the entertainment, those attending were able to take part in consultations about the proposed Local Place Plan, and the Local Improvement Plan for the South West Locality. Agencies conducting these consultations were really pleased to be able to talk to such a wide range of people and to gather their priorities, views and concerns.
