Local MSP Gordon Macdonald has released his latest update containing good news updates and information on the Coronavirus and the lockdown.

Edinburgh breakthrough

A blood-screening company that claims its researchers in Edinburgh have developed a “fast and accurate” antibody test has urged ministers in the UK and Scottish governments to begin talks so that the NHS can benefit from them.

Quotient, a company headquartered in Switzerland, said its screening machines, which have received European regulatory approval, can produce 36,000 test results per day.

Each test can be completed in 35 minutes with 99.8 per cent accuracy, the firm said.

Number of Covid-19 patients in ICU Falls below 100

The number of patients in intensive care with coronavirus in Scotland has fallen below 100 for the first time in more than a month.

On Sunday there were 99 people in ICU with coronavirus, down by nine compared to the previous day and the first time the figure has dropped below 100 since March 29.
