Man in Hospital Following Westburn Fire

Police are investigating after a 65-year-old was taken to hospital following a fire in a ground floor flat in Westburn Grove.

Emergency services were called to the flat, on Westburn Grove, at 1.05am.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they attended the blaze using four breathing apparatus and left at 3.37am.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland said:

Police received report of a fire at a property on Westburn Grove, Edinburgh around 1.05am on Monday, 24 August, 2020.

Emergency services attended, a 20-year-old man was treated by ambulance at the scene and a 65-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Enquiries are continuing.
