Prospect Coronavirus Update: November 2020

Prospect Community Housing has released the following updating tenants on some of the services available to support them through the latest Coronavirus restrictions.

Latest Updates

Edinburgh is currently in Tier 3 for Covid restriction levels. While this means you cannot have visitors in your home, we want to reassure you that our staff and contractors can continue to carry out repairs, inspections etc inside tenants’ homes.

We want to thank tenants for continuing to support each other. Moving into more restrictive measures has made everyday life feel stressful for many people. And the winter weather along with shorter days mean more of us are inside our homes for longer periods. Lots of people and families have different lifestyles and you may be aware of more household noises. We would encourage everyone to be tolerant of neighbours. But we also ask that you are respectful of how your noise can affect others.

Winter Fuel Bills

Are you worried about energy bills this winter? By taking small steps you could make some helpful savings. This month the Energy Savings Trust suggests you check to see if you’re eligible for any special discounts, grants or support with your energy bills. There’s lots of helpful information on their site. Our Welfare Benefits Advisor Fiona McLuckie can also help check if you are eligible for a Warm Home Discount. You can contact her by phone 07908951297, or email fiona.mcluckie@prospectch.org.uk
Changeworks and ACE IT are running free online workshops to help Edinburgh residents stay safe and warm. These short sessions start on Wednesday 18th November with advice on how to find and switch to a cheaper energy supplier safely online. You’ll find more information and how to join in on their site.
