Sustrans Launch Local Active Travel Survey

Sustrans would like to hear from you on what things would encourage you to walk, wheel (using a wheelchair, pram, scooter etc) or cycle on local journeys.

The consultation available online here. Is part of an ongoing project which will see new walking and cycle paths such as the West Edinburgh Link added to the area.

Its a short poll and shouldn’t tak emore than 2 minutes to fill in. The answers provided will be passed on to a steering group of local organisations who are looking at ways to make it easier for people to get around by walking, wheeling and cycling. Options in the poll include:

  • More amenities for walkers (access to public toilets, benches etc)
  • Art/sculpture/info on local history etc – created by local people and located in places accessible for walkers/cyclists/wheelchair users
  • Signs along the canal reminding cyclists to slow down when approaching pedestrians
  • Temporary trial to close some roads at certain times (e.g. to see if giving commuter cyclists an alternative to the canal could result in more people feeling safe enough to walk on the towpath)

The poll closes Friday 2 April so make sure you have your say.
