Firefighters are in attendance and Wester Hailes library has been shut after a vehicle fire has broken out outside Westside Plaza.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire applicances after ongoing reports that three commercial vehicles were on fire. There are no reported casualties and residents have been recommended to keep their windows shut due to the smoke.
Murrayburn Road is currently closed in both direction and Hailesland Road Murrayburn Place are also closed. The Lothian Bus services 3, 30 and 33 are instead diverted via Wester Hailes Road and Clovenstone Road in both directions until further notice
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed they are currently at the scene dealing with the ongoing incident.
A spokesperson said:
We were alerted at 12.02pm on Tuesday, May 18 to reports of vehicles on fire at the front of the Westside Plaza Shopping Centre, Edinburgh.
Operations Control mobilised three appliances and firefighters are tackling a fire involving three commercial vehicles.
Crews currently remain at the scene and there are no reported casualties.
