Wester Hailes Library COVID Community Testing

Wester Hailes library will be temporarily halting library services to become a COVID-19 community testing centre for people with no symptoms from Thursday, 29 July 2021, reopening at 1.00pm on Wednesday 11 August.

Testing is free, fast and safe. You do not need to book an appointment, but you will need to register when you arrive. If you have a smartphone you will register with this. If you do not have a smartphone, a member of the team will register for you. Young people under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Testing is for people who live locally – in Wester Hailes, Sighthill, Broomhouse, Bankhead, Parkhead, Dumbryden, Hailesland, Clovenstone, Murrayburn, Westburn, The Calders and Saughton.

The test takes around 15 minutes and you should have your result in 45 minutes. If you test positive you will be asked to self-isolate and book a seperate PCR test to confirm. Please don’t eat or drink 30 minutes before taking the test to reduce the risk of spoiling the test.

The library will be re-opening for Library services again from 1.00pm on Wednesday 11 August.
