Health Agency Seeking Community Link Worker

The Health Agency are recruting a Community Link Worker to support the development of the network in Ratho and Riccarton.

The post is Fixed term until 31 March 2023, working 14 hours a week with a salary of £26,104 (pro-rata).


The Community Link Worker (CLW) programme is delivered in partnership with Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership, Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Council (EVOC), GP Practices and the 3rd sector to support people to live well through strengthening connections between community resources and primary care.

The postholder will be employed by the Health Agency as part of their community health initiative which aims to improve health and wellbeing of people living in the South West of Edinburgh. They will be expected to work alongside The Health Agency team and work in partnership with Ratho Medical Practice and Riccarton General Practice.

The post holder will provide a person-centred service that is responsive to the needs and interests of GP practice populations living in the Ratho and Riccarton areas, as well as the students based on campus (this practice largely constitutes the university health service for Heriot Watt University).

They will support people to identify issues that affect their ability to live well. Taking a person-centred approach, the post holder will support individuals to help them identify personal outcomes and priorities that they would like to address, to overcome any barriers to addressing these and to link them to local and national support services and activities. They will also build relationships and processes between the GP practices and community resources, statutory organisations, other health services and voluntary organisations.
