South West Edible Estates will be facilitating the return of Natural Play Sessions in Murrayburn and Hailesland, courtesy of the Murrayburn and Hailesland community Park Association, and delivered by The Green Team.
Natural Play is a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to have fun using their imaginations by exploring local woodlands and green spaces, interacting with the natural world through outdoor games, and using loose materials to create dens, props and much more. The sessions encourage ‘free play’ whereby the children play without adult interaction. These sessions will be lead by Margon from The Green Team, who have been delivering outdoor activity programmes for young people since 1995, blending outdoor fun with environmental education.
Sessions start on Friday 8th October, and will run every Friday from 1:30-3:30pm. We’ll meet in the Murrayburn and Hailesland Community Garden before setting off to explore the local natural environment, and have a fantastic start to the weekend! Suitable for local children aged 5-12 years old as well as pre-school children, and all children MUST be accompanied by an adult. We also welcome any parents/carers to volunteer and lend a helping hand.
